Love Is All We Can Be Sure Of

By Heather Price
28/01/13

Restless sleep with windows banging
Constantly reminding that all is not well.
Moments of fearful imagination,
Relentless storm with future stories to tell.

Awakened to a city strewn with wood and leaves
Displaced objects and leaking roofs.
Sandbags placed strategically in desperation,
Confusion, and fear of displacement.

Evening comes again with silence at last,
Days of wind and rain now finally past,
From time to time, the sound of sirens
Whining in the distance.

Mother Earth surely now has our attention,
There has to be reason for her dissension.
Predictability long gone,
Nature now forces us to listen.

What of the lands and peoples of the Amazon?
With dams being built without thought or care.
Surely we cannot turn a blind eye,
And not notice such destruction there?

Stop now the Wind calls.
Stop and look at what you are doing.
Stop and think about where to from here?
Stop and wonder, what of your Children?

Pay attention the rain threatens,
Pay attention to your heart.
Surely you can feel the imbalance?
Surely you can feel the old people’s pain?

And my brother Wind hears the call of the Spirits,
And summons his sister, Rain,
And together they wake us up,
And together they shake us up.

It is time, past time.
Time for moderation,
Time for consideration,
Perhaps it is even time for obliteration.

Wake Up now and defy doom and gloom,
And choose instead to believe in magic
And all the possibilities of Light,
Welcome, and be, only love.

For when there are seemingly no answers,
Love is all we can be sure of,
Share it, bless it and give thanks for it,
And open your heart wider to even more gentle, powerful Love.

Follow the Mountain

I met up with dear friend Susan Davison, a Reiki Master-teacher , Counsellor Extraordinaire, Earthwoman-mother, Goddess,  and so much more, in the markets today. Susan and I went on an 'all day" road trip and sacred journey over the divine Mt Glorious mountain (Brisbane hinterland) yesterday.

Early before we set out - I meditated and asked that we would be guided to the perfect places and kept safe that day - I instantly saw us swimming in Sommerset Dam (about an hour 20 mins drive West - then North from Brisbane).

Susan and I had agreed she was in charge of the driving and navigation, and I would provide all the food for the day. When she asked me where I wanted to go (as we sat in her car) I handed the decision back to her, trusting she would 'hear' the signs - She immediately said - "Let's go West" - and I smiled! We drove through Samford Valley and headed west over Mt Glorious. Time and time again, Susan would say "Where to now do you think?", and I would smile and remind her she knew where to go. When we finally arrived at Sommerset Dam for a divine and welcomed swim, I told her about my meditation. We both laughed and marvelled at how we much we trust each other and Spirit.

We spent the rest of the day with Susan intuitively finding a place for us to stop for 'lunch' - she shared that she had  hoped we would have dinner outdoors, and I had only packed our lunch. We had a mango and seeds at one of our early stops for a midday snack, and drank lots of water.  It wasn't until we arrived at the top of a glorious hill at sunset, on a road neither of us had travelled before (and that was not even on the sat nav when we took a sneaky look for the first time), that we took out my esky and unloaded our fine banquet. Fresh green salad, vegetarian antipasta, asparagus, hummus, and a raw food berry pudding that I slaved over the night before! We took time to greet the ancestors and spirits of the land, Mother Earth, Father Sun, and Great Spirit, and to give thanks for our wonderful day. We played my wonderful new hand made gong from Nepal, a gift from a friend. Later, after we ate every speck of food, I drummed up a storm with my medicine drum while Susan took it all in. This was followed by a short piece on my rosewood flute. We were in heaven!

The view was perfect, and we both new we were exactly where we were meant to be, and where we were not meant to be, at all times. The road, that we had finally settled by, had started out as a narrow gravel road, and when we reached a fork in it at once stage - before Susan had a chance to ask"which way?" I began to sing a chant that I could hear being sang to me by Spirit -

"Follow the mountain, Don't be afraid, "It will show you the way".

All man made signs and common sense said - "go left" - but we both new to go right - and as I sang and sang, Susan followed the Spirit of the nearby mountain that eventually led to our picnic spot, a beautiful view, and a bitumen road that took us home across country in no time at all.

We reflected many times on our journey on how strong our intuition was becoming, and how all we really need to do is to stay still and go inwards to be shown the way. All we need will come our way, in Divine Time.

When Susan and I met at the markets this morning, we talked about how well we had both slept, and how peaceful we felt from having dedicated a full day to listen to spirit in nature. We have made a date to go on another adventure in a month's time and both can't wait.

A Woman of Light and Love

A Woman of Light and Love

There once was a woman from a far away land who found herself living in a place unfamiliar. She sometimes wondered how she ever managed to arrive where she now found herself - amongst people who were so different to her. Her heart would burst at times from her longing to live kindly and gently, and when she faced great anger, anxiety, or deep sorrow in others, she found it hard not to take on their suffering and to search for a way to help it all go away. This would sometimes cause her to suffer herself, as if somehow by doing so she might lessen the pain of others.

Eventually the woman realised she could no longer live in the strange land where she felt too much for others, and so she decided to move on. While moving physically, by relocating, was familiar and all too common for this kind-hearted woman, this time she felt too tired to do that again. After pondering for days as to what to do, she made a decision that her next move would be an internal one, and so she spent hours meditating in her Inner Worlds with Wise Guides and Teachers to find a way that would enable her to feel like she belonged.

One evening, after a particularly difficult time trying to understand how to manage energy that had come her way from someone in great emotional pain, the answer came to her. It was simple really - she realised that what she could do was to find a way to love herself for the same amount of time that she had felt overwhelmed and consumed by the anger and emotional pain around her. So she cleared the space to sit quietly and close here eyes, listening to her favorite music, and remember all the things she loved about herself. As she breathed in the memory of her True Nature as a Woman of Love and Light, she felt the knot of anxiety in her stomach begin to fade away. She kept her mind still from wondering into past events, and focused on her breath, calling it her Magical Healing Breath - her friend.

As the woman lay in the energy of self-love and internal peace, she felt her heart heal, and a new energy emerged that she was somehow familiar with from a long time ago. She remembered the energy from her childhood, when she would go inside of herself to search for a connection with the love of her Creator spirit when everything around her was dark and difficult. She also found this energy in the horses who nibbled on her straw coloured hair when she sat in the spring fields making daisy chains. She had a memory of this energy when she built tree houses with her best friend, a boy who lived down the road. The same energy had flooded her heart when she had measles as a little girl and her friend had arrived at her bedside having walked for seven miles to see her. There was no doubt this was the energy of unconditional love. And so the woman finally knew what she was searching for, and she knew that no matter what she faced, she would manage it, as long as she remembered to take the time to fill her love tank up every day - and so she did.  And she sent that love all those around her who suffered, and finally, she felt like she belonged, for there was no longer anything outside of herself that she longed for.
